The conference was organized by Al-Aghar Group , The Arab Knowledge Economy Association and the Jeddah Chamber of Commerce & Industry, under the patronage of H.R.H Prince Khalid Al-Faisal, Governor of the Makkah Region. The Conference aim was to create awareness on knowledge-based economy as well as to promote strategies for building a viable Knowledge-based economy in the Arab World. Other key objectives follow:

- Learn about global experience from other countries
- Learn how individuals and enterprises can prepare for the knowledge economy
- Network entrepreneurs, investors and industry experts to discover new ways for improving and shaping innovation and entrepreneurship in selected industries including education, hydrocarbon, power and water, environment, healthcare and life sciences, information and communication technologies, real-estate and tourism industries.
